Calculate area of border
When purchasing plants, the question often arises of how many plants are needed to fill the area they will be placed on. This number depends not only on the planting area, but also on the type of plant used. Each plant variety is different in terms of size and growth pattern, and therefore the number of plants needed can vary greatly.
Square-metre tool
In order to quickly and easily calculate the number of plants you need, we have developed the Heijnen Plants square-metre tool. This tool can quickly and easily calculate the number of square metres of the border (the planting area) the plants will be placed on.
Start by choosing the shape of the border in which the plants will be placed. Enter the prompted size(s) of the border and you will see the number of square metres required.
Product page
The number of square metres does not immediately show how many plants are needed. Because this is different for each plant variety, go to the product page of the plant you want to order for this purpose. There, you will see a calculation tool in which you can enter the number of square metres. The tool converts this figure into the number of plants needed. Please note that a small rounding-off correction applies. This is because the number needed is based on whole plants.
