Tidying up jobs for your garden
We are now approaching the end of winter. Although the end may be in sight, it is nevertheless still winter. And winter means that it can be very cold, with frost and snow possible. Although your fingers may be starting to itch, there are certain jobs in the garden that are not yet possible. Nevertheless, there are already lots of little jobs you can do at the moment.
Our list
The end of winter is the ideal time to start sprucing up your garden so that it will look nice and tidy by spring. Frost and snow may keep you from pruning or planting new plants, but tidying up is always possible! We would like to list some tidying up jobs for you.
Remove green deposits
Clean your terrace or paving. It is quite common for green deposits and moss to build up on the tiles in your garden during the winter months. These deposits are caused by tiles becoming damp and not having a chance to dry out due to little or no sunlight. Damp and shady areas are perfect for algae and moss. And algae and moss create green deposits.
You can remove these deposits by sprinkling sand on your terrace or paving and scrubbing away the layer with a broom. You can also use a green deposit cleaner.
Redesign your garden
If you have always planned to change something about the layout of your garden, this is the ideal time to do so! After all, you can (re)design everything about your garden that doesn't involve plants. For example, you can lay paving, install a gazebo, hang bird boxes or decorations, or install a garden fence. Anything you fancy.
Other jobs
There are also some little things you can do to get your garden ready for spring. Clearing leaves from your gutters, for example. Or adding extra garden soil in places where it has subsided slightly.
As you can see, there's always something to do in your garden, even if it's freezing outside! By getting on with the above tasks, you are guaranteed to have a beautiful, neat garden in spring.
